a man in a gym lifting a bar(l) Inside of LA Fitness Gym(r)

We expect gyms to be clean and well-maintained. It’s part of gym etiquette to wipe your equipment before and after use. But what happens if you find that your gym is not as clean as you hoped? That’s what happened to one Atlanta LA Fitness customer who says that after what he saw, he’s looking for a new gym.

In a viral seven-second TikTok, Zohshiet (@zohshiet) writes in an on-screen caption, “Time to find a new gym….. LA Fitness @ Toco Hills.” Why? As he shows in the video, he found a mushroom growing out of the wall under a mirror. “Fungus = mold. No wonder I can barely breathe in here.”

dakota johnson walking in the street

The art of the romantic comedy has been lost in recent years. We clearly want it back, we have seen recent success stories in the genre, and yet Materialists feels like a warm blanket consuming all us rom-com lovers.

The Celine Song film throws us into the romantic world of Manhattan. Allusive, expensive, and yet all consuming, the city is just as much part of Materialists as is John (Chris Evans), Harry (Pedro Pascal), and Lucy (Dakota Johnson). Lucy is a match maker who puts on an air of someone who has her life together but through Song’s brilliant script, we see just how flawed and messy Lucy really is.

miley at a premiere

We live in a society where people love to demand things. Recently, fans spent a bunch of money to go to a Tribeca Festival event with Miley Cyrus and when they realized it was a talkback, they began demanding that Cyrus sing when that wasn’t what they paid for.

Videos began to surface of Cyrus on stage at the festival and fans were in the audience screaming. One said “We thought this was a concert! We paid $800! Are you actually going to sing…” That isn’t her fault. That’s on the person who spend $800 and didn’t read what they were paying money for.

Glen Powell and Adria Arjona in a bathrub together in Hit Man

I am someone who loves movies. I always look for something to enjoy and when a movie truly consumes me and takes over my ever waking thought, that’s how you know it is perfect. And that’s what happened one year ago today with Hit Man.

The Richard Linklater film took the true story of fake hit man Gary Johnson and brought it to audiences with a romantic comedy twist. While I am a fan of Linklater’s work, I think Hit Man really took the title of his best work for me. Yes, I am including my 20+ year love of School of Rock in that. But there is something just so special about what Linklater and star and co-writer Glen Powell did with this movie.

Woman with blonde curly hair inside of store opening blind boxes(l) Labubu Character(r)

Labubus are currently taking the world by storm. The soft plush toys have become the must-have fashion accessory of summer 2025.

Their scarcity and the fact that they’re sold in “blind” boxes, meaning you don’t know which one is inside until you open it, have helped fuel demand.

Woman shows how to bypass netflix blocking feature(l) Netflix Logo on Building(r)

Netflix has drawn the ire of its customers ever since the streaming platform cracked down on password sharing in May 2023. The streaming giant has been unabashedly criticized online for canceling cult favorite shows and funneling money into projects not deemed worthy. The password sharing ban was just the icing on the cake of what folks had already been dubbing “Netflix’s flop era.”

Netflix and password sharing

Several users found fault with the shared household password policy—and it wasn’t because they couldn’t freeload from friends anymore. College students who left their parents’ house to study now find themselves without access to their family’s Netflix. Other family members constantly traveling found it inconvenient to have to update their profiles just to catch up on a new season of their favorite show.

Pharrell Lego movie art

Here is an extremely incomplete list of songs that were written, produced and/or performed by Pharrell Williams: “Alright” (Kendrick Lamar), “Hot in Herre” (Nelly), “Blurred Lines” (Robin Thicke), “Hollaback Girl” (Gwen Stefani), “Get Lucky” (Daft Punk), “Milkshake” (Kelis), “Shake Ya A–” (Mystikal), “Rock Your Body” (Justin Timberlake), “I’m a Slave 4 U” (Britney Spears), and “Happy” (Pharrell Williams).

Until I watched Piece by Piece (aka, the Pharrell documentary that’s animated entirely as LEGO), I was unaware of just how influential the Virginia-born artist really was. We all know “Happy,” of course, and most of us are probably aware that Pharrell was in the hip-hop group N.E.R.D. and produced a few hit songs. However, Piece by Piece makes a convincing case that he might just be the most influential musician of modern times. It’s also, even more surprisingly, a great documentary that uses its unique LEGO-focused format to push the entire genre in a smart new direction. This makes it a worthwhile watch for any documentary fans (even if they’re not into hip-hop).
